Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
The core responsibilities of this position include the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of assigned projects ensuring consistency with Information Technology Services Division and Department of Corrections goals. This includes coordinating the efforts of team members and contractors to successfully complete assigned projects as planned. Defines the project’s objectives and oversees quality control throughout its life cycle.
Coordinates and leads long-term projects relating to system maintenance and/or new technology or enhancements to existing systems; coordinates and establishes project schedules and monitors progress. Research, review, recommend and prepare requests for proposals and/or bid specifications for hardware and/or software purchases. Develops and implements Project Management processes, directs project management staffs, and works with management to define, prioritize, and develop projects. Applicant should be familiar with concepts, practices and procedures within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Performs other related work as assigned.
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Direct and manage project development from beginning to end; define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents. Serves as primary business liaison determining supported agency's business system requirements; prepares cost/benefit feasibility studies; and analyzes and evaluates processes, data, database structures, and/or business functions. Leads complex projects, or multiple teams, in support of application development projects, enhancements, and/or maintenance relating to the design and documentation of logical data models, functional work processes, business rules, program specifications, and database functionality.
